Firewalls from Palo Alto Networks are the best that the market currently has to offer regarding next-generation firewalls. The tiered administration scheme is particularly important: customers can view configurations in the firewall and even change them safely, e.g. blocking a website in the URL filter, without interfering with the sensitive basic configuration of the firewall, which SerNet can thus continue to guarantee and also assume liability for.

The vendor SOPHOS has built up a very broad range of firewalls and end-point security measures and offers many lean administration options with web-based management consoles for customers and service providers. The range of managed security services such as MDR (Managed Detection and Response) or NDR (Network Detection and Response) is very extensive and can be booked at SerNet on a modular basis.

Secure connection of mobile devices

Protecting mobile clients with the best possible endpoint security is of paramount importance for every company. Only 1/4 of the computer workstations sold worldwide are permanently installed PCs that can be securely administered in the LAN. Zero trust means that the environment of a workstation is not trusted in any way and the computer can be controlled and used safely in any dangerous environment.

The installation of VPN profiles by SerNet not only enables the best encrypted connection to local networks or cloud systems, but also graduated mobile device management for remote monitoring and remote control of the devices.

Modern two-factor authentication (2FA) using one-time passwords (OTP) dramatically increases security for mobile endpoints because passwords are generated dynamically for each login process. It is then up to the company's risk management team to decide whether these passwords need to be entered for every login or, for example, only once a day and still guarantee a high level of security.

Secure in the cloud and "on-prem"

E-mail will remain one of the backbones of communication on the Internet in the future. SerNet supports its customers completely platform-independently, including with the SN.Gate firewall service.

Most mail servers are based on GroupWare systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Outlook, but can also be pure SMTP servers for IMAP4 clients such as Thunderbird or Apple Mail.

SerNet offers a wide range of products for the SN.Gate to protect against malware and SPAM and for legally required email archiving in accordance with GoBD and GDPR.
