The award ceremony for the start-up competition LIFT-OFF of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen took place at the end of June. Together with Prof. Dr. Bernhard Brümmer and Göttingen's mayor Petra Broistedt, SerNet founder Dr. Johannes Loxen opened the event in the Old Mensa at Wilhelmsplatz.
The participating teams presented their start-up idea in a short pitch in front of about 170 guests. The prize winners*innen 2023 could look forward to cash and non-cash prizes worth over 30,000 euros. A video of the award ceremony, photos and an introduction of the teams are available from the Transfer- and StartUp-Hub of the University of Göttingen.
SerNet was one of the three main sponsors of the competition this year. "We have supported LIFT-OFF from the very beginning," said Loxen. He added: "The competition strengthens the academic start-up culture in the region. It's great to see what great ideas have grown here over the years." Among other things, the participants receive support from experienced mentors. Loxen has also been able to help develop business models in this role. "I can only recommend anyone with an initial idea to apply and take advantage of the diverse range of workshops, coaching and networking on offer."
